Types of Afsia – Types of Aphasia
Afsia is of the following four types –
1. Expressive Aphasia – In this Afsia, a person knows what he wants to say, but he is unable to express himself. He is unable to say his point properly nor is he able to write his point.
2. Receptive Aphasia – This is such an Afsia in which the patient can hear the voice and can also see the objects, but he is unable to express them in words. Because he has lost the ability to understand the word.
3. Anomic APhasia- This is a type of Afsia in which the patient is unable to tell the name of an object, city. He is unable to express any incident in the right words.
4. Global Aphasia – This is a serious type of Afsia, in which the patient is unable to speak, nor can he write, nor can he understand anyone’s point.
Causes of Afsia – Causes of Aphasia
There may be the following reasons for Afsia –
1. Embolism, tumors and abscess are the main causes of Afsia. When their condition is in the right hemisphere of the brain, the left part of the body is affected and the right part of the body is affected when the brain is in the left hemisphere. Apart from these, the following can also cause Afsia –

Symptoms of Afsia – Symptoms of Aphasia
The following symptoms can be seen in the patient of Afsia –
- When speaking, the voice of the patient is not clear while speaking, sometimes slow, sometimes very slow, sometimes to speak quickly, sometimes very slowly.
- Speaking half-incomplete sentences.
- Sometimes speaking sentences that have no meaning.
- Do not understand the other person’s point.
- Write some sentences that have no meaning.

Diagnosis of Afsia – Diagnosis of Aphasia
Three types of methods can be adopted for the diagnosis of Afsia. Consistency by doctor, standardized tests for information of brain activities and some imaging tests. The details are as follows-
(i) Assessment by a doctor- Doctors assess the ability to understand the patient’s language and generate the language. This includes dialogue, question -answer, following orders, knowing the names of items, etc. Since Afsia is a disorder related to the language that indicates a problem of the brain that causes a loss of a person’s thinking, understanding, consultation and ability to do words, so it is not a hearing power, vision defect, muscle or nervous system problem.
Doctors ensure what extent the patient can speak fluent without stopping. He is having difficulty in speaking and is using suitable words. Whether he has any difficulty in speaking, repeating, name of things, or not.
(ii) standardized tests for information about brain activities – For this test neurocycaologist, or dialect and language experts take information about how patients are functioning different areas of the brain. This test helps in identifying Afsia with clear and vague symptoms, then treatment is planned accordingly.
(iii) Imaging Test – Some imaging tests can be conducted for the above point (ii) such as CT scan or MRI.
Treatment of Afsia – Treatment of Aphasia
Friends, it is necessary to know the cause for the treatment of Afsia. The cause is prevented only after knowing the cause, as if someone has a brain tumor, the first tumor will be treated, if the brain infection is treated then the infection will be treated. Thereafter, through speech therapy, an attempt will be made to get the patient out of Afsia.

Along with speech therapy, some communication devices can also be used. The sooner the speech therapy is started, the sooner there is a possibility of improvement in the patient as the development of Afsia begins when a particular part of the brain is lost.
In some cases such as the condition of brain trauma may improve at a low speed or it may partially decrease. If the patient does not show improvement in basic language skills, then some communication equipment is taken to communicate well with the patient. This devices may include books, pictures, cutouts of various shapes made of wood, boards depicting daily activities, keyboard, computer-based devices with messages displays, electronic toys, etc. It is easy for all the patients to understand what is said through speech. Along with this, the patient’s family members are desirable to have a positive attitude and complete cooperation towards the patient.
